Can you believe that it’s nearly July and we are past the first half of 2023?
The month of July brings with it more days of sun, heat and an abundance of activity. As summer comes into full swing, this is a time to enjoy the extra hours of daylight, embrace nature and connect with yourself.
A little bit about July.
July was named after Julius Caesar, and was originally the fifth month in the early Roman calendar. This month is most associated with freedom, travel and adventure.
To celebrate travel and adventure this month, I will be sharing some travel stories with you of my favorite adventures in the world. While this year my family and I are opting to stay close to home (something to do with our second flower growing season and harvesting nearly everyday), we are hoping to plan out a little more to travel again in the near future.

What is Egg?
Egg is a division of Fine Lines Showroom and is an online platform that represents indie makers, primarily women owned businesses specializing in hand made and small batch products. Fines Lines has been representing gift, fashion and home decor industry leaders in the Western US for over 30 years. With showrooms in Las Vegas and Seattle, we’ve had the unique opportunity to have our work represented by their ambassadors on the road as well as be part of the upcoming gift show Vegas this month!
Since launching Orchid & Pine’s collection with Egg in May, we’ve begun shipping out to stores in the greater western region, shops like The Paper Place in Scottsdale, Arizona, Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena and Vashon Pharmacy in Vashon, Washington. So even if you’re not in our local area, you may be able to find some of our earth vessels and bouquet cards in a shop near you soon. I’m so grateful for this partnership with Egg as not only is it a DREAM COME TRUE, it also aligns with our value of connection and the relationships that we build with our customers. For me, it’s not just about getting our work out there (though it does feel good to share our gifts), it’s really about the relationship that we build over time with each and every client.

As we are slowly moving to wholesale for the last quarter of this year, we’ve decided to participate in fewer in person markets. I love getting out of the studio, to see friends and meet new people. I often come back from market inspired and ready to dream up new projects in the studio. Our next in person market will be at Headwest, this Sunday, July 2 from 11am - 5 pm at the Ferry Building in SF!
DRIED FLOWER CLEARANCE SALE - I’m clearing space in the studio to make room for drying more flowers so I will be bringing several dried bunches of flowers and foliage for our summer clearance sale.
